Enrolling into the first partner program

This article explains the enrollment in the partner program and the next best actions required to enroll successfully and become productive quickly.

Explore opportunities to partner with Microsoft and start your partner journey by enrolling in the Microsoft Cloud AI partner (MAICPP) program.

Note

Enrollment in MAICPP requires acknowledgement of the MAICPP agreement. Ensure the enrollee has the authority to sign agreements on the organization’s behalf and can produce legal documents during the verification process.

Step 1 – Initiate MAICPP enrollment

Commence the enrollment by clicking join the program and selecting Partner and click Next.

Step 2 - Login using existing work account or create new work account

If you already have a work account, use that to log in and continue the enrollment else click Create work account.

Note

Do not use Personal Azure free/trial accounts, Azure Government tenants, Legacy EA-only constructs or Microsoft Accounts (MSA / Hotmail / Outlook.com) to enroll in commercial programs like Microsoft Cloud AI partner program, Cloud solution provider. Create work account sets up a tenant, an organization billing account which serves as legal entity.

Step 3 – Submit enrollment request

Use the credentials produced to Login with work account and commence enrollment. Select the billing account/legal entity, read the Microsoft Cloud AI partner program agreement, and click enroll. Learn more

Enrollee must be a Global admin to enroll in MAICPP

Step 4 – Enrollment verification

Once enrollment application is submitted, Microsoft begins the verification process. Log in to Partner Center immediately after successful enrollment submission, go to Account Settings -> Legal info page to monitor the verification and provide any required inputs during this process. Enrollment is Active only once vetting is Authorized. Check the latest vetting status in Account Settings -> Legal info page

Step 5 – User access setup for Partner center workspaces

Partner Center is organized as workspaces and depending on the program enrollment, different workspaces are enabled. Learn about the Partner Center workspaces. Enable users in your organization with right access to the workspace through two steps

  • Ensuring they're already a member in the tenant (also known as Entra ID) via Create Users
  • Assigning right roles to the users

Step 6 – Understand your Partner Center identity

  • Enrolling into Microsoft Cloud AI partner program creates two Partner identities (IDs) by default – a Partner Global account (PGA) and a Partner Location account (PLA). Look up your partner IDs in the Account Settings -> Identifiers page in the Microsoft Cloud AI Partner program tab. Learn when to create and how to manage ___location accounts
  • Users log in to Partner Center using a work account associated with tenant enrolled in partner program.
